Our Driving Lessons and Courses

We offer a full range of driving lessons and courses to suit every learner across our coverage areas:

Manual Driving Lessons: Manual driving lessons with a fully DVSA-approved manual driving instructor, structured around your pace and progress from the very first session.

Auto Driving Lessons: Our automatic driving lessons remove the complexity of clutch control, making them ideal for nervous learners, those in busier urban areas, and anyone who wants a smoother, more straightforward path to their licence.

Weekly Driving Lessons

Regular, consistent driving lessons that build skills steadily at a pace that works for you.

Semi-Intensive Courses

Faster-paced driving lessons for learners with a test date approaching or a shorter timeline in mind.

Pass Plus Lessons

Post-test driving lessons covering motorways, rural roads, night driving, and dual carriageways.

Refresher Lessons

For drivers returning to the road after a break, delivered without pressure or judgement.

Driver Confidence Training

For learners and qualified drivers whose anxiety is holding them back.

Motorway Driving Lessons

Available to any driver holding a full licence across our coverage areas.

Mature Driving Review

A relaxed, honest assessment for experienced drivers who want reassurance and professional feedback.

Female Driving Instructors Available

We understand that many learners feel more comfortable learning with a female driving instructor, whether for personal, cultural, or comfort reasons.

We have both male and female driving instructors available across Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Suffolk.

Searching for a “female driving instructor near me“? Get in touch and we will match you with the right instructor in your area.

Manual or Automatic Driving Lessons: Which Is Right for You?

When deciding on a driving school in your area, the quality of the instructor and the consistency of your lessons matter far more than the size of the school. At SOS Driver Training, every driving instructor is fully DVSA-approved, locally based, and matched to your experience level, schedule, and learning needs.

Manual driving lessons give you a full, unrestricted licence covering both manual and automatic vehicles. If you want to keep all your options open, manual driver training is the more flexible choice. Our manual driving instructors are available across all our coverage areas and will guide you through clutch control, gear changes, and everything else at a pace that suits you.

Auto driving lessons are a genuinely practical choice for a growing number of learners. With no clutch to manage, you can give your full attention to road awareness, observation, and confidence from day one. All electric vehicles are automatic by design, and with the UK’s 2030 target for phasing out new petrol and diesel cars, automatic driving lessons are an increasingly forward-looking choice.

Not sure which to choose? Call us on 0800 488 0817 and one of our team will talk it through with you honestly.

I passed on Monday with Lisa as my instructor, she was so kind and patient with me each lesson and always made me feel like it was okay even if I did something wrong. We would have fun talking which made it such an easy environment to learn and I can’t thank her enough for what she’s done for me in helping me learn to drive! 🙏🏻 I’ve already recommended her once and would do so again a thousand times over!! Thank you Lisa for helping me achieve something I thought would be impossible for many years!!
